I bought you some chalk and bubbles at Target in the 99 cents bin last night. The plan was that after dinner we would go out to play. Well... it was a nice thought. You were so tired and I could barely get you to eat any dinner. I thought you might be a little more interested in the chalk, but you really were not. In daycare you have been doing a lot of crafts with paint and markers. I can't wait to show your Daddy all the little projects you created at school. But the chalk was not impressive to you. You were way more interested in the bubbles. I blew some bubbles in the air which made your face light up. You chased some around the yard and then stomped on them. I don't think this was your first bubble experience. I let you hold the bottle, which was the best part. For 15 minutes you put the bubble wand in and out of the bottle. The sort of funny part was that you were getting frustrated every time you could not get the wand in the bottle right away which made you cry until you did. You did not want my help at all. It made me think about how you might deal with frustration throughout your life. You were frustrated but you kept at it. And as you kept trying you were getting a little better as you went along.
