Summer Time

Wow - time is flying by fast. The summer is almost over. We have been busy. We went to the beach for our annual 4th of July trip, have spent many days at Aunt Vickey's pool, and have had many playdates. Here are some pictures from our summer so far :

Oh My!

Wow! I am way behind on keeping everyone up to date with your adventures and activites Rogan! We have done so much over the last 4 months it is hard to know where to even begin, but here we go....

Your birthday, March 4th, 2010. You turned 2 or as you like to say "dos." Your birthday was so much fun. We had it at the Children's Museum and a lot of your pals from day care came.

For your birthday Pop Pop and Grandma got you a jungle gym and Dad and Pop Pop spent the last 3 weekends putting it together for you.

We drove to Delaware to visit some of Zack's college buddies for an engagment party. We stayed at Aunt Cindy's house and that is when you learned how to get out of a pack N' play. I didn't get much sleep that weekend, plus you were battling strep throat and general ickiness. Also- Uncle Guido taught you how to stick your thumb up and say "what's up dude!" You thought that was pretty funny.

So from April/May/June - you moved from the blue room to the green room, which was such a hard transition for you. It broke my heart! I think you were kind of sick during that transition which made it that much harder, but like the little trooper you are you adapted pretty qiuckly! We also moved you to a toddler bed during that same time period (maybe not the brightest idea, but you were close to falling out of the crib quite a few times). At first you did not like this change, but now you love your bed.

We are taking swimming lessons right now, which you love. Although, you are not very interested in following directions along with the rest of the class. You prefer to jump off the edge! You are amazingly fearless in the pool. I love it but it scares me a bit. I have to fight to hold onto you sometimes because you just want to do everything on your own. You'll even crack yourself up when you fall and go under water. I have to grab to pull you up but you come up laughing.

What else did we do, we had a few playdates with William, went to Beckett's birthday party, swam at Aunt Vicky's pool a number of times, you have also slept over at the grandparents house 3-4 times in May and June. It is way harder for me then you. You actually do not mind at all or really feel that you need me when you are with Grandma and Pop Pop - which is great! Mama is learning she can get more things done and have some mama time during those infrequent moments.

And right now, you are helping me with our two foster kittens. They make you giggle. You help me hold the bottle and you bring your toys over for them to play with. You are a very sweet boy! You put your head down on the ground and look into their little faces and say Hi!

Your most popular phrase right now is: "I don't know." Your sentences are getting longer and more complicated. I am amazed when you use I, you, the, are, and is correctly. Your verbs and pronouns are right on!

We have company coming this week...just to see you. Mama G and Papa G are driving in from Ohio. I can't wait for them to see you. My mom will be amazed. She adores you and I only wish you could spend more time with them.
