Happy New Year!

It has been a long long time. I confess...I took a little vacation and just enjoyed your company all the way through. This was the first year that I really had a Christmas vacation in about 8 years. We were planning on driving to Ohio to visit Mama and Papa G, but with snow and Dad's work - well it didn't happen. We will have to visit them in the Spring.
It snowed about 12 inches here on December 18th. It was beautiful, but unfortunately, you didn't like it that much. You couldn't walk in it and our make-shift sled didn't slide so easily. Luckily you were content to play in the car while I spent a good 30 minutes cleaning it off.
I was off from work for 2 weeks and you stayed home with me the whole time - well except for one night when you slept over at the grandparents. I can't tell you how much fun I had with you. Overall, we were pretty lazy and stuck in the house, but I felt like I really got to know you. I finally had time just to sit back and watch you. I am giving myself all the credit for this, but it probably had more to do with timing - you are starting to talk more and more. Your words are getting more clear by the day.
So our days were spent with running errands, baking, visiting family, watching movies, snacking constantly, taking naps, reading, and playing. We spent the night at the grandparents Christmas eve. Dad and I slept in his childhood bunk bed, while you slept next to us in your pack n' play. Unfortunately for me you didn't sleep very well. We got up at 3:30ish and went out and looked at the tree for a little while and then you were officially up around 6amish. Too too early for me, but you were up and ready to help grandma make sticky buns for breakfast.
Christmas day was fun. You got so many presents. It took us most of the day to get to them all.
Christmas has officially been sealed into your head as a really good thing. You understand Santa has something to do with it and you unwrap presents, eat lots of food, and get new toys. What could be better.
